There is no disappointment in the psychological effect of predictability;

Prints of these works (2018) were on show at Paardcafé during the 3rd edition of Uit Het Gareel in They Hague (2019). Later they were also on show during the Pop-Up Expo Window Shop at the Student Hotel, also by Uit Het Gareel.

Every weekend Het Paardcafé is full of people. All individuals, all with their own stories and all their own wishes, them together form the evening. The place is worth repeating, worth to come back to. If we zoomed out very far, beyond the individual, we move in rhythms and patterns. Every weekend Het Paardcafé is full of people. We are worth repeating.

Anyone who thinks repetition is boring is wrong. Those who are only looking for that single highlight will miss it. There is power in repetition. Everything around us moves in rhythms and patterns. We move on rhythms and patterns. The beat is unmistakable and it feels good. When I am at Scheveningen, the sound of the skipping waves works meditatively. No matter how long we stay awake, the sun sets, as if nothing, and then goes down again.

There is no disappointment in the psychological effect of predictability. If it's right, then it's right. Again and again. Something to build on. To move along. Dance. But how predictable are we really? How unique are we in what we are all part of. We zoom in on this evening. We zoom in on your experience, with which you finish the work. Is the repeating worth it for you?
